I am delighted to be taking on the role of Welfare Manager for Repton Hockey Club, alongside continuing as Manager of the Boys’ U16 team, a role I also held throughout last season.
I have been involved in hockey club management and volunteering for a number of years. Prior to joining Repton HC, I was team Manager at Clifton Robinsons Hockey Club and previously chaired a hockey club in Wales. This has given me experience of supporting players, parents, coaches and volunteers across both junior and senior hockey environments.
Outside hockey, I have also held voluntary roles supporting children and young people, including working with schools and children’s charities and mentoring looked-after children.
Professionally, I work for the Ministry of Defence in a senior leadership role and hold a current DBS certificate. My professional and voluntary experience has given me a strong understanding of the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality, good governance and creating environments in which children and young people feel safe, supported and able to enjoy their sport.
Repton Hockey Club has a thriving junior section, and ensuring the welfare and wellbeing of all our players remains a fundamental priority. I want players, parents, coaches and volunteers to feel that they can approach me if they have a concern, need advice or simply want to talk something through.
I look forward to working with everyone across the Club and to another fantastic season at Repton HC.
