1. Welfare Officer - Introduction

Welfare Officer - Introduction Letter

Dear All Club Members and New Joiners,

Welcome to the new season for Repton Hockey Club 2023/24. Many of you will have been part of our success in prior years and some of you will be new members. By way of introduction I have been elected by the Club Committee to be the Repton HC Welfare Officer and I look forward to meeting many of you down at the astros over the coming months.

As a senior police officer I am appropriately trained in child safeguarding, first aid and welfare management and I hold a current DBS certificate.

I have over 3 years experience as a Team Manager and Welfare Officer for England Hockey at the West Midlands Performance Centre, now Talent Academies. I am grateful for this opportunity to provide voluntary welfare support to RHC as the newly appointed Welfare Officer for 2023/24.

I am engaging, approachable and will maintain confidentiality when necessary. I assure you that I will make every effort to ensure the RHC players are well cared for and their welfare needs are met.

We now have a large youth membership and, along with providing an excellent standard of hockey to all age groups, we also wish to ensure that our members welfare is a high priority.

With that in mind, we would ask you to remind yourselves of, and abide by, the Clubs Codes of Conduct for all participants at the Club:

Code of Conduct - Players
Code of Conduct - Young People
Code of Conduct - Parents & Spectators
Code of Conduct - Coaches, Managers & Volunteer Helpers

We would also encourage parents to watch the attached video link:

During the season I will send out any relevant welfare updates via the club app and you can keep up to date with all club matters by looking at the Repton HC noticeboard on the side of the hockey store in the Sports Centre car park.

If you have any questions or wish to discuss a welfare matter, please do not hesitate to contact me on:

Yours faithfully
