The under 16 girls game away at Stourport saw a return to his home club for coach, Si Claris in a coaching battle against James Terry, who had coached him from when he was an under 8 at Stourport.
The game was a tight one with Repton asserting early dominance against Stourport’s half court press. Quick ball movement was crucial and something that Kat Haid epitomised. Patience from Bronte and Ottilie allowed for Repton to find the gaps within the SHC press and allowed them to take a well-deserved lead before half time through Izzy Archer.
The dominance continued into the second half with lots more patient build up throughout the defensive and midfield lines. Some hard work from the forwards cutting out the passing lanes which allowed Repton to have plenty of scoring opportunities. Crucially, Alicia made one count by slotting it under the keeper to give Repton a 2-0 lead. As a result of this lead Stourport started to press harder and the Repton girls coped with this well, simply playing through the press and remaining calm and comfortable on the ball. An overtime corner routine allowed SHC to get themselves on the scoresheet but not affecting the result for a dominant Repton side.
