Welcome to the Repton Hockey Club Weekly Update.
We are back!
It is great to be back training, and weather permitting, hosting some games this weekend. Whilst someway off a return to normality, I know everyone is delighted to be back on the pitch this week and thank you to all those who have helped with logistics and coordination of all the latest covid guidance. With tiered restrictions across the country we are pleased to welcome guest players to our training sessions, who are unable to train at their own clubs, to ensure all players are able to access hockey activity. This week one of the participants of this England Hockey initiative was Erica Sanders (occasional RHC coach, OR and GB international).
Junior and adult training is back to normal times and days (with a Christmas break from 21st December - 2nd January) and we are carefully working within Government and EH guidelines as Repton is currently in Derbyshire Tier 3 status. Under the Latest Covid-19 Guidance juniors can travel to Repton for junior matches and junior training from any location. Any player (adult or junior) attending adult training or adult games must live in Derbyshire. The rules for participation are defined by the Government (Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, DCMS) and adopted for hockey by England Hockey. Please note, these rules rely on self awareness and self regulation; the club does not have the resources to police each participant’s compliance but we will obviously investigate any issues if we are made aware. It is in the interest of every member (and parent/ guardian) to ensure they comply with all rules so hockey and other grassroot sports can continue safely.
