On the five year anniversary of the formation of Repton HC the Committee are delighted to announce that GB International and Olympian Sally Walton has joined the SCC UK Ladies' Outdoor and Stratstone BMW Indoor squad for the 2021/22 season. Sally will also play a key role in our coaching leadership team, joining Lead Coach Lloyd Madsen and Head Coach Martin Jones to continue to develop the elite coaching framework in place to support all of our members.

Sally commented, "The opportunity to work with such a talented bunch of core players, a really dynamic, forward thinking group of coaches and committee members is an opportunity and a challenge that I couldn't resist. The aim over the coming years is to build a club that flies the flag for top hockey not only in the East Midlands, but also nationally. I am excited for the chance to play amongst some of the top talent in the country and to build a club environment for top hockey players to feel welcomed into a warm club environment"
Sally brings a wealth of experience, both as a coach and player, with an international career that brought her over 160 caps and a clutch of medals - including Olympic bronze for Great Britain at London 2012. Sally is also a phenomenal indoor player, frequently finishing as top scorer in the National Jaffa Super Sixes Premier League. She has an impressive coaching record as Men's Performance Head Coach for Khalsa Leamington HC, Player Coach for Olton and West Warwickshire and Hockey Specialist and Athlete Development Programme Facilitator for Royal Grammar School Worcester.

The Ladies' 1st XI have had the opportunity to play alongside Sally in our Friday evening MT13 Repton Women's Cup games and her considerable experience and skill have been a positive influence on the team as they have faced National League sides, including the University of Nottingham and Loughborough University.
Head Coach Martin Jones welcomed Sally to the club, "It’s fantastic to have Sally join us as we look to further strengthen our adult playing group and develop our coaching pool for next season. Sally’s vast experience will be invaluable in further improving our Ladies 1st XI, supporting the significant number of talented youngsters at the Club and will also be a huge asset to our squad as we look towards our National Super 6s Premier League campaign."
