Stratstone BMW Ladies promoted to Midlands Division 1 & Farewell to Ayelen

With the suspension of all hockey activity due to Covid -19 the MRHAWL have announced the end of the 2019-20 Midlands Ladies Hockey season with one game left unplayed. The League Committee confirmed that the final league standings will be after the 17 games played to date and that the top team in each Division will be promoted and the bottom team relegated.

Repton HC Ladies 1st XI finished the season top of Midlands Division 2 on 46 points, 7 points ahead of the second placed team University of Nottingham 2s. They won 15 games, drew 1, lost 1 and finished the season with a Goal Difference of +75! Congratulations to all those who played a part in this season's success and special mention to Coach Lloyd Madsen, Managers Abi Johnson, Paula Swain and Suzanne Buffin and all those who helped with lifts, match sheets, match teas and team admin over the season.

We sadly had to say a hasty "Goodbye" to Ladies player Ayelen Roldan who returned to Argentina in March to avoid any Covid-19 travel bans. She will be sorely missed by the Ladies team, the Committee and all the juniors she coached this season across the club. We wish her and Augustin all the best and hope to welcome them back to Repton HC at some point in the future.

Next season the Repton HC Ladies 1st XI will compete in Midlands Division 1 and will be looking to repeat this season's success against the following teams:

Ashby
Burton
Edgbaston
Harborne
Leicester City 2
Matlock
Olton & West Warks 2
Solihull Blossomfield
Telford & Wrekin

The Ladies have also been promoted to the Super 6s National Indoor Premier League for 2020/21 and will be competing at the highest level against teams such as Wimbledon, East Grinstead, Holcombe and Bowdon.
