Match Reports from the 11/12th October 2025. Looking ahead to next week all 3 adult teams play at home with the W1 and M2 back to back on Saturday and the M1 play on Sunday. Our U18s play their first games of the season. It is set to be a good weekend and we look forward to seeing you there!
Despite getting off to a slow start, the M1 were able to build into the game through the first quarter enjoying large spells of possession and good territory against a resolute Olton defence.
The breakthrough came halfway into the second quarter with a well taken upright reverse finish from Ed W. The M1’s managed to weather some dangerous Olton attacks during this period too with the score staying at 1-0 at the HT break.
The second half brought more of the hockey we’ve become accustomed to seeing from our M1’s with lots of flowing attacking moves that eventually led to 2 goals in quick succession from Jono H and then Ben C to make the score 3-0. Olton were able to get one back late on in this quarter with a well executed PCA leaving the score at 3-1.
The M1’s were then able to muster the energy for a strong push in the last quarter to score three more unanswered goals with James S, Si C and another from man of the match Ed W leaving the score 6-1 at FT and our M1’s now top of the league after four games played.
M1 Win 6-1 VS Olton
Player of the Match: Ed W
Repton W1 travelled to Olton on Saturday for their fourth fixture of the season, facing a much-improved Olton side who showed real composure and control throughout the game.
From the first whistle, Olton demonstrated sharper distribution than in previous encounters, moving the ball efficiently across the pitch. Repton’s Kat M applied strong pressure and forced several turnovers. However, despite creating promising moments going forward Repton lacked the clinical edge needed to convert their chances.
Just before half-time, Olton seized their opportunity. A turnover deep in Repton’s half led to a short corner, which was executed with a neat deflection to give the home side a 1–0 lead at the break.
In the second half, Repton began to threaten more consistently, with Emilia K and Jess L linking up well to create openings in front of goal. Yet, despite their efforts, the final touch continued to elude them. Olton made Repton pay on the counterattack, earning another penalty corner and doubling their advantage midway through the third quarter.
Repton responded with renewed energy in the final stages, digging deep and pushing hard to find a breakthrough. Despite their late surge and several near-misses, time ran out, allowing Olton to close out a disciplined 2–0 win.
W1 Lose 0-2 VS Olton
Player of the Match: Anna S and Emilia K
From the first whistle, the M2 looked sharp and assertive, immediately applying pressure inside the Derwent circle. Despite this bright start, it was the hosts who took the lead after eight minutes. A quick free hit and an overhead ball into space caught Repton out, and although goalkeeper Christian GW made a fine initial save, the rebound fell kindly for a Derwent attacker to slot home – very much against the run of play.
Unfazed by the setback, Repton regained control and continued to dictate the tempo. Their persistence was rewarded in the 10th minute when a slick move down the left found Ben L, who finished clinically to level the score at 1–1.
The visitors dominated possession throughout, with Derwent limited to the occasional counterattack. Patience was key, and Repton’s breakthrough finally came in the 64th minute. David E delivered a pinpoint pass into the circle, allowing debutant Jonnie N to calmly convert and give Repton a deserved 2–1 lead.
As the final whistle blew, Repton could reflect on a display full of resilience, control, and composure against a well-organised opponent. The victory sees the M2s move clear at the top of the league table.

U16 Girls' White Win 1-0 VS Cambridge City
It was an early start for the U14 Boys T1 as they faced local rivals Beeston in frosty autumnal conditions. With a thick mist hanging over the pitch, there was initial uncertainty as to whether the match would go ahead. Fortunately, the fog lifted just enough to allow play to begin, albeit 30 minutes later than planned.
Repton started brightly, pressing high and showing intent from the first whistle. After a couple of early near misses, Sam D opened his Repton account in the 13th minute, finishing off a flowing move down the wings.
From there, Repton took full control of the game, dominating possession and territory. Their sharp passing and dynamic wing play repeatedly opened up the Beeston defence, resulting in a commanding 5–0 lead by half-time. The only minor blemish came from a series of mistimed tackles that saw Repton reduced to nine outfield players for a brief spell following a green card.
Despite that, Beeston were unable to capitalise, and Repton continued their dominance into the second half. A composed and clinical performance saw the boys add five more goals, finishing the match with a resounding 10–0 victory.
Goals were spread across the team, with Nye (3), Charlie (2), Sam (1), Henry (1), Matthew (1), Jack (1), and Jay (1) all finding the back of the net. The entire squad contributed to the win through slick build-up play and unselfish assists. Special mention goes to Mac, who showcased outstanding pace and skill on the wing, providing several assists and causing constant problems for the Beeston defence.
The boys now head into a short half-term break with two wins from two and plenty of confidence ahead of their next league fixture away at Sutton Coldfield in November.

Repton U16 Girls continued their fine run of form , showcasing impressive teamwork and composure despite playing with a squad of just twelve players.
Repton dominated possession from the outset, controlling the tempo and creating a number of scoring opportunities. Their persistence paid off in the 29th minute when Issy R opened the scoring with a well-taken field goal.
The pressure continued after the break, and Issy R struck twice more in quick succession from penalty corners in the 40th and 43rd minutes to complete a superb hat-trick and give Repton a commanding lead.
A green card for Isabella T in the 45th minute briefly halted Repton’s momentum, but she quickly made amends upon her return to the pitch, scoring a fine field goal in the 53rd minute to make it 4–0.
As fatigue began to set in, Rotherham managed to capitalise late on to pull one back, but Repton’s dominance throughout ensured a comfortable and well-earned victory.
Special mention goes to Issy R for her outstanding scoring performance, but this was truly a collective effort. A great display of determination, teamwork, and spirit from the entire squad.

The match began brightly for the U14 Girls', who asserted early control with long spells of possession and two short corners within the opening minutes. Despite their early dominance, Beeston’s defence stood strong, denying Repton an initial breakthrough.
Against the run of play, Beeston took the lead in the 15th minute following a quick counterattack that led to a short corner and a scrappy finish after a defensive mix-up.
Repton’s response was immediate. Just four minutes later, Darcy P fired home a powerful strike to level the score at 1–1, restoring momentum to the visitors. The remainder of the first half saw further Repton pressure, including another short corner, but the teams went into the break all square.
The second half showcased Repton’s composure and structure. Confident ball movement and sharp passing culminated in a well-taken goal by Jessica HM who finished clinically from an Erin L assist to give Repton a 2–1 lead.
Beeston pushed hard to find an equaliser with several attacking forays down the right flank, but Repton’s defence, expertly marshalled by captain Margot T, held firm and disciplined under pressure.
Head Coach Russ Anderson’s tactical changes around the 40-minute mark injected fresh energy into Repton’s play, and the adjustment paid off when Millie H added a third goal in the 51st minute. Her powerful strike from just inside the D, assisted by Amelia W, sealed the result.
A strong all-round team performance ensured another deserved win for the U14 Girls, who continue their excellent form heading into the next round of fixtures.
