Final Month of the 23/24 Season

As we head in to the final few weeks of the 23/24 season there are some crucial matches ahead, with some exciting promotion battles in the adult section and championship title races in the junior section.

The Women's 1s, Men's 1s and Men's 2s teams all sit at the top of their respective league tables with 3 games left to round out the season. The M1s, led by player coach Adam Dixon, are looking to break into the National Leagues in 24/25 and will hope to continue their winning form and see off second place Khalsa who are only 2 points behind, in what has turned out to be a two horse race in the Midlands Premier Division.

In their first season in the National Leagues the Stratstone UK W1s, coached by Michael Hoare, have had a truly impressive run in the England Hockey Conference Midlands and will continue to fight for the one promotion spot up to Division 1 next season. Since formation in 2017 the Women have secured back to back promotions and rapidly risen from the Derbyshire leagues to more than hold their own on the National stage and we are incredibly proud of their success so far.

The M2s, led by Paul Willars, have improved and gathered winning momentum over the season. With a mix of maturity and youth in the squad, they will be hoping to finish their best season yet on a high and gain one of the two promotion spots to Midlands Division 3 East next season. The M1s and M2s have been generously supported this season by our Partners Baron and Grant and The Bulls Head Repton.

Our U18 Boys and Girls have both secured a Tier 1 National Championship semi-final spot for the second year running. With the Boys looking to defend their 22/23 National title and the Girls aiming for a first place finish, after last season's Runners Up spot, they will both face Clifton Robinsons HC on 17th March. The U16 Boys are competing in the Supra-League looking to gain a place in the Tier 1 National Finals in April and the U16 Girls are through to Round 3 of the knock out Tier 1 Plate competition. The MT13 U14 Girls are competing both in the post Christmas Supra-League competition and have also reached the semi-final of the Tier 1 Plate competition. Next round games all take place on March 17th and players are asked to please mark their availability asap for the final stages of these competitions.

As reigning National T1 U18 Boys Champions, a Repton HC U19s team has been invited to compete in the EHCO Trophy 2024 in Amsterdam over the Easter weekend. In what looks set to be an incredible opportunity for the team, they will compete against the Junior Champions from Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Spain at Amsterdamer Hockey Club over the EHL Finals weekend. All games are live streamed so keep an eye on social media over the Easter weekend for links to watch the Repton HC boys compete against the best teams in Europe!

A huge thank you to the team coaches and managers for all their efforts so far this season. The Club Committee are grateful to all the volunteers who give their time to support and help organise and manage fixtures.
