3. Club Details for New Members

Repton HC is an England Hockey Clubmark accredited club, located at Repton School Sports Centre, Willington Rd, Repton, Derbyshire and all teams play and train on the school's new water-based blue astroturf. Changing facilities are provided in the Sports Centre and post league game match teas are hosted in the village.

The coaching team is led by Ex GB Internationals Adam Dixon (Head Coach) and Michael Hoare (Head of Performance). Repton HC runs three adult teams with the Women's 1s playing in the England Hockey Midlands Conference, the Mens 1s in the Midlands Premier Division and the Mens 2s in the Midlands East Division 4.

The club runs a succcessful indoor programme having access to a state of the art Indoor Arena in the Repton School Sports Centre. The Women's indoor teams play in the National Super 6s Premier League and will represent England as Super 6s National Champions in the Euro Championships in February 2024. The Men's Indoor team will compete in Division 1 in 2023/24.

We run junior squads in the U8s, U10s, U12s, U14s, U16s and U18s age groups with weekly training and we enter these teams into the Midlands Leagues, England Hockey Tier 1 Championships, In2Hockey Derbyshire Competition, England Hockey Super 6s National Championships as well as offering regular local friendly matches to ensure match play for all.

Repton HC has one of the best Junior coaching set ups in the Midlands and is a "coach led" club using elite coaches at all levels - from minis through to our adults. We offer several different training opportunities for players :

  • Minis training on a Sunday morning (9.30am - 10.30am) for U7s, U8s, U9s and U10s with at least 2 coaches per age group. This is run on a pay as you play basis allowing for our younger members to attend when they are able to and around other commitments.
  • U12s, U14s, U16s and U18s boys and girls train weekly in age group slots with their own regular coaches. Training times and evenings are staggered to ensure all squads have access to the highest level of coaching
  • Weekly adult training sessions for our league teams and separate sessions for our developing squads, eg, Men's 2nd XI

The club philosophy is to stretch our most able players through allowing them to train and play up into older age groups where their coach has identified this as appropriate. Many of our junior members are part of the England Hockey Player Pathway and, through the consistency of coaching across all age groups in the club, we hope to ensure all players fulfil their maximum potential on the hockey pitch.
